Start of the procedure for appointing members of the UP IAM Scientific Council
Under the Article 87 of the Statute of the University of Primorska (Official Gazette of the Republic of Slovenia, No. 51/15 – Statute UP-UPB2 and amendments) and Article 57 of the Rules on the Organization and Operation of the University of Primorska, Andrej Marušič Institute, No. 1-46-PP-UP IAM/2025 of 15 December 2025 (hereinafter: UP IAM Rules), the Director of UP IAM, Prof. Dr. Vito Vitrih, adopts the following DECISION ON THE START OF THE PROCEDURE FOR THE APPOINTMENT OF MEMBERS OF THE SCIENTIFIC COUNCIL OF THE UNIVERSITY OF PRIMORSKA, ANDREJ MARUŠIČ INSTITUTE
The deadlines for completing all tasks related to the appointment of members of the UP IAM Scientific Council are specified below:
1) On 24 December 2025
The departments receive the Director's Decision on the completion of all tasks for the appointment.
2) No later than 31 December 31 2025
The Decision shall be published on the Institute's website no later than 3 working days after its adoption.
3) No later than 23 January 23 2026
- Within 30 days of receiving the Decision, each department of the institute shall propose to the director two candidates for membership and up to two candidates for substitute membership of the Scientific Council from among the members of the department (one of the proposed members shall, as a rule, be the head of the department).
- The center of the institute that decides to propose a representative to the Scientific Council shall submit its proposals within the same deadline as stated above (the representative to the Scientific Council shall, as a rule, be the head of the center). The center may also propose a substitute member.**
The proposals shall be submitted to the director of the institute.
** The department or center decides on the method of proposing a candidate for a member or substitute member of the Scientific Council at its meeting. The head of the department or center makes a selection based on the proposals received and forwards the decision to the director.
4) No later than 17 March 2026
Based on the proposal, the director appoints members and substitute members to the Scientific Council by decision.
5) No later than 26 March 2026
The Scientific Council shall be constituted at a meeting convened by the director no later than seven working days after the appointment of members and alternate members.
The decision shall be published on the institute's website and shall take effect immediately.
